Elvis & Joyce

Serving in Lisbon, Portugal

Elvis is from the south of Brazil and encountered Jesus at the age of 24. Joyce, originally from Belgium, was raised in a Christian home and felt a passion for the Gospel from a young age. Though they come from different cultures, God brought them together in a unique way and gave them a shared calling to reach the nations.

Early in his faith journey, Elvis preached the Gospel through theatre, while Joyce served as a youth leader and translator in her local church. After marrying, they pursued cross-cultural missions that eventually led them (back) to Belgium, where they served as kids’ pastors at Every Nation Ghent, setting up the children's ministry there.

During that season, God stirred their hearts for the Portuguese-speaking nations. A visit to Lisbon turned into a clear call to plant a church. In 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic, they relocated to Lisbon with their two sons, Thalles and Efraim, and now also have a daughter, Lívia.

Their heart is to reach the nation of Portugal with the Gospel, starting in Lisbon. They believe that Christ’s love and joy can bring transformation in people’s lives.
