Marcie Cowan

Marcie was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is married to her wonderful husband, Donald, who comes from a small Scottish island called Orkney. Still young at heart, they have a longing to see God’s kingdom come in the next generation in their homeland and beyond.

Marcie grew up going to church but never truly accepted the love of Christ into her heart until adulthood. She was saved at age 27 in 2023, baptised in 2024, and now God has called her into full-time kids and youth ministry! Marcie has been a Primary Teacher for the last 5 years but couldn’t ignore the feeling that God was calling her into something new. Marcie and Donald are delighted to be responding to God’s call for her to step into the role of Next Generation Lead at their home church, Centrepoint Edinburgh, as well as in Bathgate. 

Drawing on her teaching experience, Marcie understands how crucial children’s formative years are and is passionate about providing dynamic opportunities for young people to hear the Gospel. She will be equipping and empowering a team of volunteers to deliver a Biblically grounded curriculum, creating safe spaces where young people can encounter and experience the love of Jesus. She wants to help young people develop a love for God’s word, giving them the tools to engage in the Bible from a young age.

Together, Marcie and Donald have a heart for serving the local and global church. They are excited to see how God plans to work in and through them in the season to come.
